Eco Organic Life
What is an eco-organic life? It is reorienting oneself to be the creator of a life lived deeply, intentionally, and authentically. Freeing oneself from the controls of a socio-economic lifestyle in order to realign with an inherent nature and sense of purpose. When we are living mindfully, making conscious choices for our families, and ourselves we quickly realize that our well-being is in a reciprocal relationship with the health of our environment. Finding ways to sustain our natural environmental resources begins with sustaining the natural resources of the human spirit. Interconnected with the ‘waking’ of life through self-care, is the awakening of our relationship with the planet that sustains us. Eco-Organic living is a process for re-membering our true nature through an integration of ecological values, health, and well-being. The master key to wisdom and cognitive liberation can be found in our ability to expand our consciousness beyond acquired beliefs and attitudes to a deeper reality.
The secret lies in conserving what sustains life, letting go of what limits and harms, embracing beneficial relationships, and disallowing destructive adaptations. Begin by following Nature’s Example.
- Learn to work WITH nature and natural processes instead of against them.
- Enable our selves to shift consciously to more natural, ecological models for living creatively and with compassion.
- Reframe old habits of mind that condition us to live within a given situation, giving authority to institutions, and only thinking within the box to define the purpose and function of all our activities.
- (Mezirow 1991, p. 167). "Perspective transformation is the process of becoming critically aware of how and why our assumptions have come to constrain the way we perceive, understand, and feel about our world; changing these structures of habitual expectation to make possible a more inclusive, discriminating, and integrating perspective; and, finally, making choices or otherwise acting upon these new understandings" (ibid.).

Transformative Learning Opportunities.
Perhaps one of the best definitions of transformative learning was put forward by O'Sullivan (2003):
"Transformative learning involves experiencing a deep, structural shift in the basic premises of thought, feelings, and actions. It is a shift of consciousness that dramatically and irreversibly alters our way of being in the world. Such a shift involves our understanding of ourselves and our self-locations; our relationships with other humans and with the natural world; our understanding of relations of power in interlocking structures of class, race and gender; our body awarenesses, our visions of alternative approaches to living; and our sense of possibilities for social justice and peace and personal joy."
