N.T.S.O.S is an open collaborative bringing people together with tools for learning that will build our capacity for creating the means and conditions for sustainable development. Our purpose is to co-create a learning community, assimilate new understanding, and learn from collective intelligence how to responsibly direct the course of our evolution towards the betterment of humanity and the environment.
The principal promise of North Texas Society for Sustainability is to inspire and enable participating individuals’ and organizations access to collective intelligence, which can become in this age of sustainable development, tools for personal and social transformation.

The NTSOS Website is a tool for promoting inquiry, developing questions, and stimulating feedback. The learning opportunities found here are meant to be constructive input for eco-logical collaboration, provocative, challenging to conventional knowledge, mindful of perennial wisdom, and advocating innovations in regenerative design.
The gathering spaces known as “Forums” are areas that provide support networks for the people involved in developing and using them. A place where people come to learn, gain experience, interact with other people, acquire knowledge, and make valuable connections. The forums are the collaborative and interactive areas designed for the learning community to do its most complicated work.
Information resources and learning tools can be accessed through The Forum. Currently, the main areas of the forums are Systems Thinking, Education for Sustainable Development, Eco-Organic Living, and Permaculture. These areas will change, expand, or diversify as a reflection of the vitality of your interactions.
In complex systems the edge of chaos is where a system goes to do its most complex problem solving. The system as a whole is in a transition phase caused by the interactivities of the elements that comprise it. At every level of organization there is a constant push towards perpetual novelty, or evolutionary capacity. Connections are made stronger so that the whole system may evolve.
